Every bride wants to have gorgeous, glossy hair for their big day. Frank Giacone , destination wedding hairstylist and fine art curating member, says that preparation for gorgeous bridal hair begins months in advance. Frank Giacone says that you should start your hair care routine three months in advance, or even longer if your hair is thinning. You can improve the condition of your hair by using regular conditioners, oil treatments overnight, and taking a break with heat appliances. Frank shares his top wedding hair tips.
1. Your friend is oil
For soft, supple and healthy hair, oil is essential. As a treatment, use natural oils such as coconut and almond oil before shampooing. Once a week, set aside some time for an overnight hair treatment. Apply oil to the scalp with your fingertips and massage in a circular movement. Use the remainder of the oil in your hands to massage your hair. Overnight, cover with a shower cap or towel. Next day shampoo, rinse hair thoroughly, and condition normally. My Frank Giacone line of Creating Beauty hair oil is rich in vitamins and carrots extract.
2. Shampoo doubles up as a shampoo
Always advise my clients to keep two shampoos on hand in the shower. I always advise our clients to have two shampoos in their shower. One is for the specific type of hair (for highlighted or colored hair, for instance) and one for regular use. By switching between two shampoos, you can ensure that your hair stays shiny and glossy because it won’t become accustomed to the one shampoo. This could lead to over-cleansing. Two shampoos will also help to maintain the correct pH balance of your hair, resulting in beautiful shiny locks.
3. Deep conditioning treatments
After shampooing, towel-dry your hair. Then blow-dry to remove any excess moisture. Apply your conditioner of choice to the hair and scalp when your hair has dried about 34 way. Massage it well. To keep your hair warm, wrap a cotton towel tightly around it and let sit for 15-25 min. Rinse off conditioner, and then dry your hair using low heat or in the sunlight.
4. Keratin Treatments are a good option
A keratin hair treatment may be right for you if you prefer silky, straight hair and are susceptible to frizz. It’s also known as the Brazilian blow-dry or keratin-blow-dry. This smoothing treatment is one of most effective ways to boost shine and manageability for frizz-prone, curly hair. If you are considering this treatment, you should proceed cautiously and seek professional advice. This treatment is not recommended for hair that has been highly treated or blonde.
5. Give your hair a break
Stop using hot tools like wands or straighteners for some time. This will give your hair a chance to heal from the heat damage. The hair will become dull and the follicles may break. Use a thermal protection spray and maintain heat between 160-190degC if you have to use this tool.
