Diane Sotero Photography captured the couple’s Madeira-based romantic engagement session in a gorgeous clifftop setting with a picnic style. The Bride says: “Our story began at a Brazilian BBQ Sunday in the Northern Island, New Zealand. It was on 31.10.2010. On this particular Sunday we met because we shared Brazilian friends. It was love at the first sight for both of us. Luciano cooked us pasta after a fun Sunday with friends. He also managed to make me fall in love by his food… a very clever Brazilian strategy of flirting. We saw each other every day from that day forward. After a month, I moved into Luciano’s apartment.
Over the Christmas holidays and New Years, Luciano and I had some wonderful trips together in New Zealand. My parents also visited me in Auckland, and Luciano was introduced to them at the beginning of our relationship. My flight to Germany was leaving after three months of wonderful time together… It was a hard goodbye because we didn’t know how long distance love would go. Luciano, who had only seen us every three to four months either in Germany or Brazil for a year, decided to go to Germany on New Years Eve 2012. One year has now turned into 10 years and we’re still madly in love.
Luciano’s mother told me a few years later that Luciano had thought of proposing before I flew back to Germany from New Zealand. He proposed on our ninth anniversary in Madeira, at sunrise and with a romantic brunch on our balcony. We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary on Madeira, with a beautiful and talented photographer Diane Sotero. Next year, we’ll celebrate our wedding with family and close friends in Portugal. “
