honeymoon may not be the best choice for all couples. There are so many things going on (even outside COVID restrictions) that it is not always possible to get away. Many brides opt for a short staycation and then a longer trip later. Even though it requires the same amount of planning as a trip away for a week, the convenience and lack of travel will be greatly appreciated. You can start planning with these ideas. MAKE A WEEKEND LOCAL AGENDA
Plan a variety meals and activities to make your staycation seem like a longer vacation. You can mix it up with a formal meal one night, and a more casual dinner or eat in your room the next. Do not forget transportation costs to and from the activities.
Add some sleep time to your staycation. Your budget and your local options will determine whether you choose a king-sized bed at a B&B, a house rental by the river or someone’s spacious apartment on AirBnB. There’s no better way to remember the events of your wedding than breakfast in bed.
You’ll want to include both indoor and outdoor activities when planning your agenda. Staycation plans should include downtime, physical activity that is fun, cultural experiences, and familiar activities. A swim in the pool and lunch are always good combos. A night at an art gallery or museum is cultural. And a hike, couples yoga or a trip to a museum is relaxing.
Consider activities that you would not normally do in your locality. You could visit an oyster farm or brewery in the morning and then head to a restaurant with a patio at night. You can also rent a boat at sunset, and take along some sparkling wine and picnic supplies. You could visit a local attraction that you have driven by a thousand times, but never visited. Take advantage of the local expertise.
